Walker helping Meglio’s business grow healthily
Meglio – an international supplier of fitness, physiotherapy and rehabilitation equipment that includes resistance bands, acupuncture needles and foam rollers – has appointed Walker Logistics to manage its B2B and B2C order fulfilment process.
As a supplier to the National Health Service (NHS), Meglio’s products are used daily in hospitals across the UK. Last year alone, the company provided over 15,000 resistance band rolls to the NHS and private physiotherapy practices.
In addition, Meglio has a thriving B2C business with consumers ordering products directly via the company’s e-commerce website.
The contract was awarded after a competitive tender process and Walker will provide a complete fulfilment service to Meglio’s B2B and B2C customers from its 2500,000 sq. ft. multi-user third-party storage facility in Berkshire.
William Walker, sales director of Walker Logistics, comments: “Meglio had been using the services of a courier company to manage its fulfilment process but, such has been the company’s growth, it became clear that a logistics partner with a broader skills set was required.”
As part of its role, Walker will check in-bound orders to ensure that the goods meet the stringent quality standards laid down by the medical products sector.
“Because of the nature of the Meglio range strict quality control processes have to be in place and all incoming orders have to be stringently assessed, before products can enter the market,” says William Walker.
He adds: “We are very pleased to be working with Meglio. We beat off competition from a number of different companies in the industry to win the business, which is tremendous testimony to the quality of our service.”
