Driver CPC Awards
Winner of the Driver CPC Instructor of the Year Award, sponsored by the RTITB Instructor Academy, was Nigel Monk of Specialist Training & Consultancy Services Ltd, in recognition of his enduring passion for training and consistently engaging delivery, nurturing future driver talent and junior Driver CPC trainers, and consistently going above and beyond the call of duty.

Sponsored by Browne Jacobson, the Transport Manager of the Year Award was presented to Andrea Gardner of Bullet Express for her commitment to ensuring all processes comply with the Bullet Express’ Operator Licence through completing her National CPC and International CPC, and her management of the service and maintenance for all the company’s vehicles and trailers, and driver management.
Mark Briscoe of Unipart Logistics won the title of Warehouse Manager of the Year for making significant improvements to Health, Safety and Wellbeing by actively encouraging and promoting the safety culture on site, which has contributed to zero lost time injuries and a 31.25% decrease of incidents involving damage in 2017. This award was sponsored by Linde Training.
Materials Handling Equipment Awards
Winner of the Forklift Training Provider of the Year Award, sponsored by BITA, was Small Training Solutions for going above and beyond the expectations of its clients, providing affordable services, free training materials and ongoing customer service, as well as taking the time to ensure clients are compliant.
The prestigious title of Forklift Operator of the Year was won by Dale Smith of Wilko Retail Ltd following an excellent performance in the live grand final, sponsored by UniCarriers, which took place at the Talent in Logistics Conference earlier the same day. Competition was fierce as the operators demonstrated a high level of skill, knowledge and safety.
The grand final of the Forklift Instructor of the Year, sponsored by Hyster Europe, also took place at the Conference and was won by Antony Smith from UK Industries Training. The competition celebrates excellence in forklift truck training and instruction and the 12 finalists were put through their paces on the day, across four challenging tests: Inspection, Driving, Knowledge and Teaching.

The Training Programme of the Year Award was won by Fleet Source for developing something entirely new to the road transport training market: the UK’s first Terrorism Risk and Incident Prevention programme of products and training services, named ‘TRIP’. TRIP has been designed so that commercial fleet operators, managers and drivers can be educated on the risks of terrorism, the nature of the threats that they may face and a range of safety precautions they should implement to significantly reduce the possibilities of their vehicle being hijacked or stolen and used in a terrorist incident, which could potentially result in saving lives. This award was sponsored by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.

This award was sponsored by Health & Safety Publishers.
Lifetime Contribution Award
Sponsored by Doosan Industrial Vehicle UK Ltd., the prestigious Lifetime Contribution Award was presented to Andy Kaye of Bis Henderson Group for his passion, personal input and dedication to a cause he truly believes in.
