New leadership at AAH Pharmaceuticals.
AAH Pharmaceuticals, part of the Celesio UK family, has appointed Ashley Cowen as its Fulfilment Director. In the new role, Ashley will be responsible for all warehouse and transport operations across the organisation and will report into Operations Director Catherine McDermott.
Ashley Cowen joins from Amazon where he held the position of Operations General Manager. In his time with Amazon, Ashley was responsible for opening the first fully robotic distribution centre within the EU at its site Manchester. Prior to joining Amazon, Ashley was Operations Director at Jet2.com.
His remit for his new role is to deliver operational excellence to AAH Pharmaceuticals and ensure that all customers receive everything they order exactly when they need it. AAH currently delivers over 15 million items per week to every dispensing point in the UK.
On joining Celesio UK, Ashley Cowen said: “It’s important to remember that at the end of our supply chain, there is a patient, it’s not just about moving products. I’m excited to be a part of such a forward thinking, customer-centric company and I hope to be able to enhance our already industry leading service levels. I’m proud to be a part of a passionate and dedicated team that is highly motivated by putting the customer first.”
Russell Freeman has also joined the organisation as Head of Central Logistics reporting into Ashley. Russell has a wealth of experience in logistics and distribution, having led large teams and operations for Tesco, DHL, Amazon and Travis Perkins. In his new role, Russell is responsible for leading AAH’s supply and logistics operations.
Catherine McDermott, operations director at Celesio UK, which includes AAH Pharmaceuticals, commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Ashley and Russell to our business. They are exceptionally high calibre leaders with a strong focus on delivering excellence for customers, which is why they’re a perfect fit for AAH.”
